First Sunday Arts Festival continues to expand its offerings this year. This summer the festival expanded the number of artisans and added a local farmers market along Calvert Street offering fresh local produce, meats, seedlings, maple syrup and cheeses. Erik Evans the festival's Executive Director says "local farm producers are a perfect compliment to our artisans. It also helps fill a need in downtown Annapolis for residents to be able to walk to purchase fresh produce." The First Sunday Arts Festival will now have expanded free Annapolis Parking options in August. Visitors have for years taken advantage of the 726 free parking spaces at the Calvert Street Parking Garage (also know as the State Garage) at 19 St Johns Street. Starting with the August 5th festival visitors can also park for free next to the festival at the 826 space Whitmore Parking Garage at 25 Clay Street until 4pm every Sunday and $2 evening parking after 4pm. This summers expansion of the festival attracts almost 150 local artisans and farmers each month selling on West Street and Calvert Street in historic Downtown Annapolis, Maryland. The continued success and growth of the First Sunday Arts Festival has helped cement West Street and the Annapolis Arts District as the regional destination for shopping for local and regional arts and craft. Performers throughout the festival will be showcasing live music at four free performance stages including, Weisman Park near the Visit Annapolis Visitors Center which is a good spot to relax in the shade, the main stage next to Stan and Joe's Saloon, City Gate Park on the second block of West Street, and on Calvert Street in Whitmore Park hosted by Priddy Music Academy. Plus catch a movie at sunset after the festival on the back patio of Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis. The First Sunday Arts Festival are conveniently located in Downtown Annapolis on West Street and Calvert Street where Annapolis Parking is a breeze. There is free parking until 4pm next to the festival at Whitmore Parking Garage (25 Clay Street) and all day free parking at the Calvert Street Parking garage aka State Garage (19 St. Johns Street) located about 2 blocks from the festival. Bus tour groups are welcome to drop off and pick up along Calvert Street. Admission to the First Sunday Arts Festivals is free, so bring your friends and family to spend a day out on the town. This fun artisan festival returns on the first Sunday of each month through November plus a bonus Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival in December makes it fun to Visit Annapolis, Maryland.
